I am new to mountain biking but have definitely embraced it. My son, Charlie, joined in 2022 and I took my first mountain bike class in the spring of 2023. I'm hooked and excited to keep coaching and riding with the kids. I have never loved biking but it turns out I just needed to do it in the woods instead of on the street!
I'm an actuary at a computer all day so it is great to get outside with the team. It has been an incredibly welcoming environment for kids at all levels and I plan to keep that a top priority of the club!

As the oldest of 8 siblings, riding on two wheels meant freedom growing up. I logged most of the miles of my younger-years on the black top starting at age 10. Many of those miles included participating in Ride the Rockies (407 miles of Colorado mountain roads) and RAGBRAI (409 miles of two-lane highway across Iowa).
My daughter joined the Armstrong Cycle Club in 2018 and I was excited to have a riding partner. I learned how to ride single track alongside her. Riding in the woods is a whole new freedom for me and very different from road riding. I enjoy the inclusivity of the Armstrong Cycle Club and being able to coach all levels of student athletes not only in biking skills but life skills such as team work, responsibility, and leadership. The coaches, who all volunteer their time, are also fantastic to work with.
By day, I am an IT product manager at Best Buy and love working with the technology my team provides. I also enjoy the new electronics we carry that make life so much better! When I'm not working, I'm adventuring with my two teenagers camping and collecting US National Parks or riding bikes!

Hello, I'm Chad. I am one of the head coaches and love to ride mountain bikes. I remember when I was a kid we were able to get 7 people on one banana seat bike and actually ride it down the street. Today I love to ride on my own bike and coach others on their bike.
I am an Outdoor Education Specialist with Three Rivers Park District at the Baker Outdoor Learning Center. I enjoy almost everything about being outside.
I will have three kids, 9th, 7th and 6th graders, on the mountain bike team this year. They also love to ride and be together with friends.
