I was a very active child with a vivid imagination and that combination helped me find positive reinforcement in endurance sports, visual art and music. I have a background in dance of various disciplines, gymnastics, skateboarding, biking, drawing, painting, songwriting and guitar.
August 2021 I set a goal to bike every day and logged over 4,500 miles YTD. I went on my first single track ride November 7th 2021 and was hooked. Mountain biking felt like a natural progression of skateboarding and serves up that need for speed that us thrill seekers chase.
My goal as a coach is to teach longevity and responsibility, while building a skill set in an encouraging and supportive environment. On a personal level I want to demonstrate that being “cool” means being kind, compassionate and inclusive to everyone. We all have different talents and when we use those talents together, we elevate each other to a higher level.
I am married to Andrew Awaijane (coach) and together we are raising 9 children: Zoe (coach), Alexander, Maximus, Rachel, Jasmine, Eleanor, Sophia, Luna and Thorbjorn.
I worked for Barrett-Jackson and Culligan before retiring from the professional world and have been a full-time homemaker since 2006.

Hi - I’m Jenny, one of the parent volunteer coaches. I have been helping with the Armstrong cycle club for a couple years and hope to continue while my kids are on the team.
I’m a nurse for the University of MN, managing their satellite clinic Minneapolis College. In my free time I enjoy running, biking, and treading water, and of course, chasing/driving my kids around to whatever activities they are doing at the moment.
I love the community aspect of the mountain bike team and look forward to getting to know the riders. I am excited to be a part of facilitating a passion for the life-long sport of biking!

I can still remember the very first time I hopped on a bike and pedaled away without training wheels. It was a gold Raleigh with a banana seat and high sissy bar. A real beauty! The bike was way too big (I put one foot on an old tire so I could reach the other pedal) but once I was up I was gone. Every time my tires hit the dirt I get that same feeling.
I ran track in high school and college (mostly 200m and 400m). I played in about a dozen bands through the ‘90s and 2000s. I was a… what do you call a guy who likes to hang out with musicians? Oh yeah, a drummer...
For my day job I make records. Yes, records! OK, I make CDs and MP3s too… I own and operate an audio mastering studio in downtown Minneapolis and have spent the past 31 years in the audio industry.
When I’m not riding or working I’m spending time with my wife Sara and sons Calvin (Armstrong Cycle Club 2014) and Quinn (ACC 2017-22).
